Meet Our Spring Intern

Hello! My name is Jessie Schirrick and I’m the spring intern at Allgo Social. I am very excited to learn more about this career field and work with various clients in my awesome community. I’ve been on social media since MySpace was a thing and my favorite platform these days is Twitter.

I am a proud Native Nevadan and admirer of the iconic neon and mountainous landscape that make this state so unique. I grew up in the small, rural town of Winnemucca and moved to Reno shortly after graduating high school.

While interning at Allgo Social, I will be completing my degree at UNR where I am majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in Women’s Studies. During my time at UNR, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for academia and I know I will miss the intellectual stimulation and challenges of college. The more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know. I am also passionate about human and animal rights and I hope to lead a successful marketing career in the nonprofit sector.

Although most of my professional experience has been in social media, I have also written for several publications in Northern Nevada such as The Nevada Sagebrush and The Sparks Tribune.

I also manage social media for The Nevada Sagebrush, the student-run publication at UNR. Additionally, I volunteer my time for Awaken, a nonprofit aimed at ending sex trafficking in Reno.

Upon graduation in May I plan to learn how to roller skate, attend Burning Man, become a cultured and well-traveled individual and sleep. I’ve dreamed of going to Brazil for many years and took two semesters of Portuguese in preparation. My favorite trip I’ve been on so far was to New York City this past August.

I consider Florence Welch, Stevie Nicks and Lady Gaga the holy trinity of music. I am addicted to the true crime genre and am always open to recommendations for documentaries and podcasts. I strongly identify as a dog mom and in my (ever-disappearing) spare time, I like to read books and play with my Morkie, Bronson.
